2016: Islamabad United Win the First-Ever PSL Final

The first PSL final had to be played in Dubai. Security concerns at the time meant Pakistan couldn’t host international cricket, so the entire first season ran in the UAE.
Islamabad United chased 175 with more than an over left. Dwayne Smith set the tone with 73.
Andre Russell, the tournament’s top wicket-taker, took 3/37 in the final. Misbah-ul-Haq became the first captain to lift the PSL trophy.
2017: Peshawar Zalmi Win the First Final Played in Pakistan

March 5, 2017 was a big day for Pakistani cricket. This was the first PSL final on home soil. The crowd at Gaddafi Stadium was loud, and Peshawar Zalmi delivered.
Quetta could only manage 90 chasing 149. Kamran Akmal had been the tournament’s most consistent scorer. Darren Sammy made himself a Lahore legend even while playing for Peshawar.
2018: Islamabad United’s Second Title in Three Seasons

Quetta Gladiators had been to two finals and lost both. In 2019, they made it look easy. Chasing 139, they got home with two overs to spare, losing only two wickets.

2020: Babar Azam Wins Karachi Their Only Trophy

PSL 5 was a strange season. The pandemic split it in two. The final didn’t happen until November 17, 2020, eight months after it started.
Babar Azam ended it with 63 not out. He barely let the pressure build.
Lahore Qalandars had no answer for him. This is still the only PSL title Karachi Kings have ever won.
2021: Multan Post 206 and Cruise to the Title in Abu Dhabi

COVID moved the second half of PSL 6 to the UAE. Multan Sultans didn’t mind.
They put up 206/4, which remains the highest total ever posted in a PSL final.

Peshawar were never in the chase. Mohammad Rizwan won the title in his first season as captain.
2022: Lahore Qalandars Win After Six Years of Waiting

Lahore Qalandars had been in the PSL since the start and never won. That changed on February 27, 2022, at Gaddafi Stadium, in front of their home crowd.
Mohammad Hafeez was brilliant with both bat and ball. Multan collapsed to 138 all out. Shaheen Afridi’s first season as captain ended with a trophy. The wait was over.
